What's In? [Deaky-topics in this week]
- Still Keeps High Rank: The Rich List 2003
-
According to Sunday Times, John gained £50m pounds last year and came to 689th rich people around the UK (same amount as last year, but 62 rank up!) with Roger:
"Deacon, 51, joined the band Queen in 1970. In the first six years after the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991, the band's Queen Productions company had sales of £118m. Though earnings have slipped since, the Mercury effect has not entirely evaporated, with £22.8m sales in 2000 and £5.6m in 2001. Deacon, through his Goldfinch Productions company, also drew £11.8m in salaries between 1992 and 1998."
- Disrespect for fans?
-
This week, Maria jo wrote the following comment on my guestbook:
Though I'm nuts about John, i can't find any excuse for his disrespect for his faithful fans. Does ever comple write to you and thanked you for your wonderful website? I don't think so, Also you shouldn't blame other people for his absence in Queen projects, he is the one to blame, nobody excluded him. I'm sorry but the truth must be told. (extract from "Keep Smiling" No.252)
To Maria jo; I introduced it to the Japanese notice board and got several reactions, including the one you can read after your comment on the guestbook (from Ms Yukari Shima). Although many of them understand your feeling, they are skeptical for considering John disrespectful, because they think that his silence or his absence is the very factor in the formation of charactor of John himself and that's why they like him. Actually some said, "If he reluctantly appears with a half-hearted attitude, it IS the disrespect for us".
Maybe it's no more than a difference how each of us grasps the current situation.
As the webmaster of such a website, I thank you for your straight comment about him, Maria jo. And everyone, if you want to talk about John, please leave comments freely from now on.
I think it is important for us fans to keep on discussing and appealing how we love John!
