Stuck with Sellotape?

This week, got a question about John's pick: In AOBTD video, I found that John seemed to stick his picks on his bass with Sellotape(Scotch tape). Why did he do that? Isn't it troublesome to pull out or put in?

I think because his bass at the PV was Musicman Stingray(not Fender), so there was no place to put his picks in. How do you think?
